The Army Supports Single Wounded Warriors

Every November, the Defense Department observes Warrior Care Month to honor and support ill and injured service members. This month highlights the significance of comprehensive care and rehabilitation, ensuring that these warriors have the resources they need to recover and reintegrate into civilian life or return to active duty.

Wounded single Soldiers face unique challenges, such as isolation, loneliness, financial strain and difficulties achieving work-life balance. To address these obstacles, the Army has implemented several initiatives.

  • Army Recovery Care Program assists ill and injured Soldiers to recuperate and reintegrate into military or civilian life. The program provides comprehensive services and empowers Soldiers to achieve their personal and professional goals.
  • Morale, Welfare and Recreation Programs offer recreational activities and support services, including sports leagues, fitness centers and social events, to enhance single Soldiers’ physical and emotional well-being and help them integrate into their community.
  • Financial Readiness Program is available at every installation. Through classroom training and individual counseling sessions, the Army Community Service FRP teaches Single Soldiers how to save and invest their money, establish savings goals, eliminate debt and prepare financially for emergencies.
  • Suicide Prevention Program educates and trains active-duty, reserve and National Guard Soldiers, as well as Army Civilians, on suicide prevention and postvention actions.

By raising awareness, promoting available resources and encouraging community involvement, the Army ensures that our single wounded warriors receive the care and recognition they deserve.
